ANGELUCCI, Sara

Canadian, born 1962
BiographySara Angelucci is a Toronto based visual artist working in photography, video and audio, and is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Image Arts, Ryerson University. Angelucci’s work explores vernacular photography and film analyzing the original context in which these images were made. Her work has developed from an investigation of family history to a broader analysis and interpretation of anonymous/found photographs. In recent photography and video projects Angelucci draws from the history of photography, as well as natural and social history, transforming found images and repositioning them within the broader cultural context from which they emerge.
