Ted Bieler is known primarily for large sculptures in urban settings, such as:

the Relief Walls for the News and Administration Building, Expo ’67, Montreal; TETRA, 1976, in Portsmouth Harbour Kingston; CANYONS, 1978, at the TTC Wilson Subway Station, Toronto; TRIAD, 1984, on Front Street in Toronto; WAVE BREAKING, 1991, at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan; TOWER SONG, 1998, in the Odette Sculpture Park in Windsor, Ontario.

He has held solo exhibitions at the Isaacs Gallery and the Geraldine Davis Gallery in Toronto and has been included in numerous group exhibitions in public galleries in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. He is represented in the collections of 37 public galleries.

Ted Bieler has taught at the University of Buffalo, the University of Toronto, and was a founding faculty member of the Faculty of Fine Arts at York University where he taught sculpture, created the metal foundry in the Odette Centre for Sculpture, and, for periods, chaired the Department of Visual Arts and directed the Graduate Program in Visual Arts.
